Leah Gravells Receives Award

Leah Gravell's fibre art piece Summer Solstice was juried into three American Quilter’s Association Spring Shows in: Daytona Beach, FL, Lancaster, PA and Paducah, KY. Summer Solstice has won 1st place in the Wall Quilts- Landscape category at the Lancaster Show.

Canola Fields by Leah will be in the Grand National Quilt Show at the Joseph Schneider Haus Museum, Kitchener, Ontario. The show runs from May 7 - September 3, 2017.

Rae Hunter Receives SAGE Award

Rae Hunter is the Recipient of the 2017 SAGE Award for Arts & Culture. The SAGE Senior Association of Greater Edmonton holds the annual awards to honour outstanding achievements and contributions of seniors in the community.  The 11th Annual SAGE Awards will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. 

As a teacher and artist in basketry, fibre arts and weaving, Rae shares her interest in this challenging and environmentally friendly part of life and history.

Exhibition: Future Forms by Larissa Blokhuis

Exhibition Dates: April 28 - May 27, 2017

Larissa Blokhuis’ exhibition Future Forms is an imagining of what the world will look like if it becomes as hot as it has been in the pre-historic past. Using blown glass, metal and felting techniques, Blohuis places us in the future with imaginary yet-to-evolve species.

Brenda Malkinson Featured by Vital Beat

The Vital Beat (by Convenant Health) has published an article about a second chapter for Mother and Child, a stained glass window by Brenda Malkinson. It was commisioned in 1979 for Knox Metropolitan United Church. Since it was decided the congregation was moving and the church building would be torn down, a new home for Mother and Child has been found at Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton.
