Deb Turner (Calgary, AB) is weaver exploring high-structure patterning using a 32 shaft compu-dobby loom. Using a computer programme that interfaces with this loom, she designs and weaves highly complex patterns. Deb's work uses natural fibres to create wearable accent pieces and functional wovens for the home that balance beauty with design.

Deb began weaving in 1987, which has blossomed into a life-long passion. Originally from New Zealand, Deb travels frequently to her childhood haunts to visit family and friends. She is influenced by the colours and pattern in the natural environment of New Zealand and Australia as well as the rolling foothills and arresting mountains of her home in Foothills, Alberta.

When not working at her loom, Deb spends as much time as possible outside in nature, seeking design inspiration from the natural world. .
