Join the Alberta Craft Gallery in celebrating our newest SPOTLIGHT exhibition by Mandy Patchin
“Grounded Taste”
Predominately inspired by my childhood memories, both poignant and empowering, I recently felt the need to go back to my roots quite literally, creating a collection of astoundingly life like glass vegetables. This was my own interpretation of growth in life, these stunning creations are reminiscent of my parents’ passion for gardening and growing up picking fresh produce with my brother.
About the Artist:
Glass found Mandy Patchin (Calgary) at a time in life where she was feeling stuck in societies grasp, trapped in a monotonous desk job. She thrives on the energy and creativity involved in producing unique pieces using a variety of glassblowing techniques. The ability to control and manipulate the glass, molding it into whatever shape her mind can imagine, is a source of great joy in her life
Our SPOTLIGHT exhibit highlights work by new Alberta Craft Council members and members producing experimental work.
